Injury or general wear and tear can drastically affect your smile. In cases such as this, you may benefit from restorative dentistry. Our team changes lives every day through restorative procedures. Rejuvenate your smile today!

Dental Implants

A dental implant is one of the most permanent forms of restorative dentistry and can be used to restore a single tooth or several teeth. When permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason or number of teeth, dental implants can offer a new lease on life. They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure, and aesthetic.

Implants use titanium “fixtures” placed in the bone and are adhered to replace missing teeth or to stabilize dentures. Implants are often used instead of bridges to help maintain the original tooth structure of the healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth.

The number of teeth being replaced will determine the best kind of restoration for you. Implants can help replace a single tooth or a full set of teeth. If you have been suffering with partial or full dentures or are missing teeth, call your Bostick Dental Center team today to be evaluated for implants.

Implant-supported Dentures

While typical dentures shift and require the use of adhesives to keep them in place, implants fit solidly, reducing the problems associated with traditional dentures, such as gum sores, difficulty speaking, and difficulty chewing. Implant-supported dentures distribute your biting pressure more like your natural teeth, stimulating the supportive structures and preventing the bone and soft tissues from shrinking away. You can replace an entire set of teeth with beautiful, natural-looking implants. Ask your Bostick Dental Center team if you might be a candidate for implant-supported dentures.

Dentures

A proper fitting set of dentures is very important because a good fit ensures that your dentures will allow you to retain much of your mouth’s function. This is vitally important for maintaining natural muscle tone in your face and jaw. Dentures will keep you looking and feeling healthy and will help you retain a natural lifestyle.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures will provide you with a natural-looking way to restore your smile to its original brilliance. They will restore the gaps in your smile due to missing teeth that cannot be corrected by a bridge. Partial dentures are removable and are made from a synthetic material supported by lightweight metal that mimics your gum tissue and teeth to give you a beautiful new smile. The partial denture will preserve your bone structure and the integrity of your existing teeth by preventing them from shifting and tilting in towards the gaps created by your missing teeth.

Crowns (Gold or Porcelain)

Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of wear and tear during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping, and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and your smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns can be made out of porcelain pressed to metal or from porcelain throughout and can be shaded to match your other teeth. Crowns made of gold are also an option. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specially fitted to restore the look and functionality of your smile. If you have pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask if crowns are right for you.

Bridges

When teeth are missing, your smile undergoes significant changes. Missing teeth cause you to chew differently and may cause mouth pain. Additionally, as your remaining teeth work to compensate for the loss, gaps and spaces form that only make the situation worse. A porcelain bridge, custom designed by Dr. Bostick, keeps your smile aligned and your bite functional. Bridges are anchored to existing teeth or crowns on either side of the missing tooth. They are semi-permanent, meaning they can only be affixed or removed by a dentist and are a long-term restorative solution to your damaged smile.

Inlays/Onlays

Sometimes effectively removing tooth decay requires the removal of a portion of your tooth. The removed portion is replaced with a porcelain inlay or onlay. Your dentist customizes an inlay or onlay to fill the space left behind when part of your tooth is removed. Traditionally, inlays and onlays were made out of metal ― much like traditional filings. Now, porcelain-milled inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and provide relief from chewing pain, cavity pain, and tooth degeneration.

TMJ

Sometimes a headache is not just a headache. Sometimes your headaches become debilitating and disrupt your work, family time, and sleep. If you are experiencing recurrent migraines, you may be suffering from a single symptom of a deeper problem like temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Your life should not include persistent pain. Let the Bostick Dental Center team get to the root of your migraine problems.

Feel confident knowing that you are in the hands of a team specially trained to diagnose and treat your painful neuromuscular problems. Whether jaw alignment, muscle balance, head trauma, or some other source, your custom solution will depend on your root cause. Your individual treatment plan may include lifestyle changes, a dental appliance, breathing devices, or, always as a last resort, surgery.
